Catching Up

So, as you can probably tell from my last blog post, I have already fallen down on one resolution: blogging. This is only my second post this year. Such is life in my world...always running behind, not enough hours in the day, etc., etc., etc.! With two girls under 6, a 28-mile one-way commute to a full-time job, a husband, church, socialiation, and house to take care of, there's not much time left for me and my hobbies. I like taking pictures, but don't have as much time as I'd like to fiddle with them. I also like to craft & read, again, no time! Today, I realized I need to blog. I need to post about what we've been doing around here for the last month and a half, and also thought I'd post a few pics to help with the visualization.

1.) Playing lots of dress-up!
2.) Perfecting our singing & dancing skills.
3.) Playing in the snow that just keeps falling!
4.) Celebrating Valentine's Day.
5.) Taking "nature" walks (our excuse to get out of the house these days)
6.) Pining away for spring and summer...

2010

Somehow I managed to make it through all of 2009 without posting once to the blog. How sad... :( Here are my resolutions for 2010.

1.) Blog more and post pictures. I don't scrapbook, so this is going to be my life scrapbook.

2.) Lose weight, exercise more, and make healthy decisions. This one is always on my list - same thing, every year. Here it is again this year. I've already started, this is day #10, I've lost 5 lbs. so far!

3.) Less procrastination! I've gotten really bad at that since I finished my master's degree.

4.) Pray more, become more spiritually knowledgeable.

5.) Spend more time playing with my kids, and less time on stressing over my house - who cares?

6.) Take on less obligations. I'm the world's worst at telling everyone "yes". I have to stop doing that, or I'm going to go nuts, and prematurely gray!

We'll see how well I do with these resolutions. I'll repost them in 2011 with results!

Kids say the funniest things!

Cassidy says she wants to be a "cheerleader" and a "hunter" when she grows up!

Carmindy's 1st "ponytail"!

The other day Cassidy was at my parents house and my dad was blow-drying her hair. "Dodad, what happened to your hair?" He replied that he'd lost it all. She said, "Don't worry Dodad, you're still handsome." Awwww, melt your heart! :)

Easter Egg Hunt

We went to an Easter egg hunt held at a local church yesterday. It did not turn out like I had imagined it would. I knew there woud be a lot of people, but what I did not know was that the church was totally unprepared for the amount of people that showed up! They had advertised it widely: 5,000 eggs! 10 bikes! Lots of other prizes! Then, they were surprised that about 1,000 people showed up! Cassidy's very best friend from school, Kyndall was there. They were so excited to see each other. We waited forever to hunt and the girls were very patient. When we finally got to hunt the eggs, it was over in about 2 minutes. Complete chaos! The girls did win prizes - but not the bikes. Oh well. I think they enjoyed the jumping castle more than hunting the eggs. Anyway, it was fun and the girls had a great time but next year, we'll stick to hunting eggs at home.

Easter!

We have a busy day planned today. Church, then family get-together. Last night we colored Easter eggs for the first time. Cassidy had a blast picking each person's color for their egg. We wrote names of family members on them and then colored them and for the most part, each egg is that person's favorite color. This is the first time I've attempted coloring eggs with her and she did great, but by the end, I was the one placing the stickers on the eggs because a 4 year old's attention span only stretches so far...

Cassidy's Cats

Here is a pic of Cassidy and her cats, Princess and Pearl. She loves to torture these cats, although she simply thinks she's loving on them. They run when they see her coming and she just doesn't understand why. She obsesses over what they're doing and making sure they're behaving. It's getting harder and harder for her to pick up both at once. They sure have a lot of patience...
