Easter Egg Hunt

We went to an Easter egg hunt held at a local church yesterday. It did not turn out like I had imagined it would. I knew there woud be a lot of people, but what I did not know was that the church was totally unprepared for the amount of people that showed up! They had advertised it widely: 5,000 eggs! 10 bikes! Lots of other prizes! Then, they were surprised that about 1,000 people showed up! Cassidy's very best friend from school, Kyndall was there. They were so excited to see each other. We waited forever to hunt and the girls were very patient. When we finally got to hunt the eggs, it was over in about 2 minutes. Complete chaos! The girls did win prizes - but not the bikes. Oh well. I think they enjoyed the jumping castle more than hunting the eggs. Anyway, it was fun and the girls had a great time but next year, we'll stick to hunting eggs at home.

Easter!

We have a busy day planned today. Church, then family get-together. Last night we colored Easter eggs for the first time. Cassidy had a blast picking each person's color for their egg. We wrote names of family members on them and then colored them and for the most part, each egg is that person's favorite color. This is the first time I've attempted coloring eggs with her and she did great, but by the end, I was the one placing the stickers on the eggs because a 4 year old's attention span only stretches so far...

Cassidy's Cats

Here is a pic of Cassidy and her cats, Princess and Pearl. She loves to torture these cats, although she simply thinks she's loving on them. They run when they see her coming and she just doesn't understand why. She obsesses over what they're doing and making sure they're behaving. It's getting harder and harder for her to pick up both at once. They sure have a lot of patience...

It's a mystery...

Recently, Cassidy stayed with my mom for the day. She had gotten bored and was sitting under the countertop bar when she noticed some writed on the underside of it - apparently from when the countertop was being made. She asked, "Mimi, who wrote under the bar?" My mom said she didn't know. Cassidy replied with, "Maybe it was Doo-Dad...". My mom told her she didn't think it was. Again, Cassidy replied with, "Well, mabye it was Uncle D."And again, mom told her she didn't think it was Uncle D but implied that maybe it had been her (Cassidy) who was guilty. Cassidy assured her that she was not the one who had done it, and then said "Well, if it was Doo-Dad, and it was Uncle D, and it wasn't me, then it must be a mystery!"
